Our brains are amazing things, but at the same time, it blocks out what is too traumatic or painful for us to remember. And that will be a very hard thing to adjust to. I know this all too well because even after 10 years, I still question every day what happened and why. The best thing you can do for Cody now is to assure him that nothing was his fault or anyone's fault, that is why they call it an accident. He is making wonderful progress, and this should only encourage him to to look forward not backwards. Easier said than done, I know. Please, if there is anything, anything at all I can do to help, whether it is answer any questions or just help him along the way in this, please do not hesitate to ask! I continue to pray for Cody and all the family and just pray for comfort for all. I know from talking to Chris this morning that he is a little afraid to be alone, though he isn't quite sure what it is he is afraid of. This is very normal. It's almost like this is all a dream to him, and if he allows himself to relax and go to sleep, that he is afraid he will wake up and all of this progress will have been a dream. Please, just reassure him that he is a miracle, that he will continue to heal, and that there are complete strangers praying for him and are here to help out!!
Again, please let me know if there is anything I can help with!!
~TaraTara Conleynoreply@blogger.com
